Mercedes Harrold compares the weapons found on Emanuel Point I and II wrecks in Pensacola Bay, Luna's colonization venture, with the weapons from the Molasses Reef wreck in the Turks and Caicos, an exploration venture, and to the Padre Island Fleet wrecks, a shipping venture. Harrold is an historical maritime archaeology graduate student at the University of West Florida. She specializes in the Spanish Colonial period with emphasis on the Manila Galleon aspect of the trading relationships among Philippines, New Spain and La Florida.
