Celebrate Arbor Day with the Florida Forest Service

Tree Giveaway and Educational Displays

INFORMATION PROVIDED BY FLORIDA FOREST SERVICE

The Florida Forest Service is partnering with the Bagdad Village Preservation Association and Bagdad Waterfronts Partnership to hold an event celebrating National Arbor Day and Earth Day in Santa Rosa County. Festivities will include various nature-related booths, a tree giveaway, and water and snacks will be provided.

The event will be on Wed., April 22, at Bagdad Mill Site Park, 6953 Main Street in Bagdad, from 9 a.m. to noon or until the trees are gone. The Florida Forest Service will provide free red maple, Virginia willow/sweetspire, sand live oak, and highbush blueberry in one-gallon containers, with a one tree/plant per person/family limit.

Join the National Arbor Day and Earth Day celebration! While several states observe Arbor Day on different dates (Florida’s being the third Friday in January), the national observance of Arbor Day is the last Friday in April.

For more information, contact Ashlee White, Santa Rosa County Senior Forester, Florida Forest Service, at Ashlee.White@FDACS.gov or call (850) 626-3028.
